StreetOrDeen – “STOP ACTING BLACK” MY REPLY AS BLACK REVERT TO ISLAM

Excellent reply from our brother Hussain Thomas, an active Da’ee from London who regularly attends speakers corner on why the statement from Abu Ibraheem was so problematic to our black brothers and sisters, and why he is going to find it so hard to get over these words.

PRIME MINISTER SLANDERS POPULAR LONDON IMAM

cameron ghani

On Wednesday, British Prime Minister David Cameron sunk to a new low even for the British Parliament of openly lying and slandering Sheikh Suliman Ghani, saying he was an IS supporter.

The defamatory statement was made during Prime Minister’s Question Time after an MP raised the question of some politicians “sharing a platform with extremists” in regards to the London Mayoral elections where the Labour Candidate Sadiq Khan looks likely to win.

Sheikh Suliman Ghani has always made very clear his opposition to IS / ISIS / ISIL / Daesh and to use Parliamentary privilege in this way, as a member of Parliament cannot be taken to court for what is said there, is a scandalous abuse of political powers even by the low moral standards of British democracy.

The London imam and popular speaker has now challenged Prime Minister David Cameron to repeat his defamatory comments outside the chamber and so open himself up to be legally challenged.

In response to the Prime Minister’s slanderous accusations, Sheikh Suliman Ghani told the Muslim online news site 5Pillars: “I challenge him to repeat those absurd and flagrantly flawed assertions about myself outside the chamber. As those allegations are baseless and an utter lie and if he does so I will sue.”

“In actual fact I have never and will never support IS/Daesh, in fact I have consistently like all mainstream Islamic scholars not only spoken out but condemned IS/Daesh for the monstrosity that they are.”

Suliman Ghani has often been slandered as some form of extremist by the right wing media and online community for his open and brave support for the campaigns against the discriminatory and much discredited anti-extremism policies of the UK government known as Prevent.

This however runs a new low and will allow these rabid voices in the media to instead quote the Prime Minister’s statement, so protecting themselves from the laws against libel in the UK.

It should be noted that in no way could it be said the Sheikh shares all the same views with Sadiq Khan, a secularist, left of centre politician who supports Israel, questions the hijab and has other kufr views, but that they both spoke out and sometimes shared platforms against the governments Prevent Agenda of profiling and discriminating against Muslims in the UK.

DA’WAH MAN – 5 Reason Why Yasir Qadhi Is WRONG

In the past I’ve not been not the biggest fan of Imran ibn Mansur, aka Dawah Man. Though I respect the work he does in the field of Dawah and the popularity he has brought to this field of endeavour in our deen among the youth, still his style of delivery just always grated on my nerves for some reason.

However last night I watched his video “5 Reason Why Yasir Qadhi is WRONG” and almost right the way up to the end I couldn’t fault it.

It’s like he’s grown up in matters of the deen and it’s been obvious over the past few months he has been on his own journey of development studying with serious yet accessible students of knowledge in the UK like Abdur Rahman Hassan and Ustadh Abu Taymiyyah and it tells from his character and his speech, and not just in his increasingly lengthening beard and changed mannerisms.

Gone is the young man bouncing across our screens in the backwards baseball cap, and instead all that energy, all that passion is devoted to the deen of Allaah in a manner more befitting an Islamic speaker, a Da’ee.

I had hoped he could bring his fan-base on a similar journey, but clearly not all of them wanted to move, and instead I logged on and found comments from the ‘please to refrain’ crowd who used to share and promote his previous videos, but they are now mocking him saying such things as ‘from Dawah man to waste man’ and other such insults and slanders.

This is because in this latest video he has spoken about one of the biggest fitnahs in our age, which is the attempt to reform, or deform the teachings of Islam and in doing so quite rightfully spoken about the errors of a man who calls towards this methodology, Yasir Qadhi, the spokesman and scholar for some of those wanting a reformed Islam in the West.

Even if you don’t agree with Imran in anything he says, do not mock when he is only attempting to call people to a more serious take on the teachings of Islam when Allaah has stated in the Quran:

“If you ask them (about this), they declare: ‘We were only talking idly and joking.’ Say: ‘Was it at Allaah, and His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger that you were mocking?’

Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed…”

Quran translation, Surah al-Tawbah, 9:65-66

Some will say, who is Imran ibn Mansur to refute Yasir Qadhi? A better question would be who is Yasir Qadhi to attempt to push people away from the scholars and to reform Islam?

But regarding Imran ibn Mansur, he’s a geniune brother, trying to call others towards the deen of Allaah, a da’ee, and his words carry weight with many people, tens or perhaps even hundreds of thousands among the youth. As he has himself has called towards people following Yasir Qadhi in the past so he is required to now clarify his stance and correct it.

Ustadh Abu Taymiyyah said in his own promotion of this video: “Should we just give a blind eye to those who are misguiding?”

I would urge you all to watch the video all the way through, he is making some serious weighty points regarding the way Yasir Qadhi has changed over the years and I agree with him 100% regarding the need for people to know about the fitnah Yasir Qadhi is causing among the masses of the Muslims and why he needs to rectify his affairs.

May Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala guide and rectify us all, forgive our mistakes and bring us back to the correct methodology of following His deen, ameen
